good morning to you. welcome mornings onto on this sunday. september 25th i'm claudine wong. james torres. good morning to you. let's go ahead and get you out the door this morning with a quick check at your weather. rosemary oroczo is here with us this morning. rosemary the what's great clouds fog. they are back. we are looking at cooler weather in store along the coastline and inside the bay for the afternoon today for inland cities. dropping off. just a smidge will go sixties and seventies at the coastline for the afternoon nineties once again for our inland cities, but this is going to kick off a cooling trend that will continue into the business week. better details on what we can expect for your sunday as well as the days ahead, coming up. okay? thanks rosemary this morning. fire crews are still on the scene in oakland after a three alarm fire broke out late last night. the oakland fire department says it started around 10 45 near 98th avenue and pear main street, just south of the oakland coliseum crusade took about two hours to contain that blaze and fire tweeted out, saying wood pellets were burning on the outside of that property.

several other buildings were in danger before the fire was contained. no injuries have been reported in the cause of that fire is under investigation. and iconic sports bar in san francisco is closed indefinitely after being damaged by fire, the double play bar and grill first opened in 19 oh, nine at the corner of 16th and bryant streets authority said caught fire sometime early yesterday morning. the bar did suffer extensive damage, but fire crews were able to stop those flames from spreading to nearby residents. no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire still under investigation. 702 your time gun violence in oakland has claimed eight lives over the past week. the most recent homicide happened yesterday at oakland's concordia park. police responded to a 911 call just after six pm of a person shot. officers found a man on the ground with gunshot wounds to the head and to the back. they pronounced him dead at the scene. seven other people have died across the city in seven days. and after another fatal shooting in oakland, some

city and community leaders are calling for action. some of these shootings happened in broad daylight. and police. are still searching for information so they can make arrests. people fed up with crime say it's time for reinforcements to come in to help crack down on violence. oakland police chief says gun violence is playing the city and now city leaders want the federal government to provide support. most of all, we were able to cooperate with the oakland unified school district . youngsters are wearing our high school specifically because some of them were being caught up in the negativity. the crime is solved fourth members of the violence prevention coalition say there are many root issues that need to be addressed to make oakland safer, such as helping people find jobs and ending cycles of trauma and underserved communities. police in vallejo are focusing their attention on the latest homicide case, calling gun violence, a public health crisis. investigators say a man was shot and killed just after 10 yesterday morning. this is on val vista avenue near the six

she died of heart failure, but witnesses say she was beaten and hitting the head since i mean his death, women have been taking to the streets, removing the her jobs and burning them. woman rights is human rights. it's fundamentally human rights. woman and men in the streets today. we demand that there will be no more dictatorship. today's rally in union square begins at one o'clock this afternoon. there is another demonstration happening at 11 a.m. where protesters plan to form a human chain at the golden gate, bridge and solidarity. similar demonstrations are happening all over the world. rallying concert is being held this afternoon in support of those who are being kicked out of a large homeless encampment in oakland, cal chance was given the okay from a judge to clean, clear any victim to 200 people living at the site along wood street because there has been growing concern about fires at that site. crews did clear some of the site earlier this month, and they will be back again tomorrow for phase

two. the city county and caltrans were told in court to offer residences, the residents there safe places to stay. today's rally begins at two time now. 705 fire victims of the mosquito fire have filed a lawsuit against pg and e claimant who filed on behalf of people impacted by the fire suggests a poorly maintained utility structure caused the blaze. however, the u. s forest service says the cause of the fire hasn't actually yet been determined. yet one attorney explained why the case is being filed before an official cause is released. they're not going to write a report until they get all the evidence and are confident in their conclusion. the way that we do. it is different. we have to have probable cause to believe that pg and e started the fire. once we do, then we can file the suit and that's when we get the ability to use subpoena power. take discovery and find out exactly what happened. p j. and he released a statement friday night, saying the utility company remains focused on

this festival here in two years . today the day will start off with the fog jog a three or five mile run along the coast. it's just really brings the community together because it's really built around the community and the communities. it's run by the community and our and our nonprofit groups. so that's what makes it really special. so um and i think people really appreciate that. it's been gone. now it's back and very excited. nine this morning. today, they also have the family fun fest with activities for kids that goes from 1 to 4 today and then one of the biggest draws the food and music. there are three stages this year and 24 bands that are performing throughout the weekend. the whole point of this festival is to bring people here to pacifica to experience this community, but also it gives back so they have about 50 community organizations that they give back to through this whole event through all the money they get. to the vendors,

. remember yesterday morning we started out with the sunshine. well, for some of us, not the case any longer the low clouds along the coastline inside the bay are inland east bay, as well as down through areas of our south bay. partly cloudy to mostly clear north bay also but for those of us in areas like san francisco oakland pacifica cloudy skies to begin fairfield , you've got to ensure breeze had about 13 mph calm in novato conquered. also calm and our temperatures are similar to where we were yesterday, at least for most were four degrees warmer this morning in oakland. we are up by seven at half moon bay. so the cloud cover tends to insulate us a little bit and we are starting out at 57 degrees for half moon bay 58 in san francisco, 58 conquered 62 to start your morning. brentwood 60 over san jose the afternoon highs for today, bringing them down along the coastline inside the bay and far inland cities a little bit, but yesterday we were in the mid nineties over areas like antioch and deliver

there are going to be a lot more people showing up here today. yesterday they started off with a parade honoring healthcare heroes. this is the first time they've been able to have this festival in two years. and then today they will start off with the fog jog. it's a three or five mile run along the coast. that starts here just at nine o'clock. one of the cool things about this festival is that even though it's free to enter money from the vendors stays here in the community. it goes back to all the nonprofits, and in 19 years we've given back $1.1 million to the non profits that help and we have about 50 nonprofit groups that helped all the schools all the you know, uh, baseball football. today they also have the family fun fest with activities for kids that goes from 1 to 4 today, so if you need a place to take the kids today, that could be a fun adventure for them. and then one of the biggest draws is the food and the music here. there are

before that fire was contained. you can see how hot it was going with all that water being dumped on it. no injuries have been reported. the cause of that fire is still under investigation and an iconic sports bar in san francisco is closed in definitely after being damaged by a fire there. you can see those visible flames burning at the double play bar and grill. that restaurant and first opened back in 19 oh, nine at the corner of 16th and bryant streets. authorities say it caught fire sometime early yesterday morning. the bar suffered extensive damage. fire crews were able to stop those flames from spreading to neighboring residence's no injuries were reported with the cause of that fire is still under investigation. gun violence has claimed eight lives over the past week in oakland. the most recent homicide happened yesterday in oakland's concordia park. police responded to a number one call of a person shot just after six pm they found a man on the ground with gunshot wounds to the head and back. he was pronounced dead at the scene. seven other people have died across the city in

seven days after another fatal shooting in oakland, some city and community leaders are calling for action. some of these shootings happening in broad daylight, and police are still searching for information so they can make arrest people fed up with crime, say it's time for reinforcements to come in and to help crack down on violence. the police chief has said. gun violence is playing the city and now city leaders want the federal government to provide support. most of all, we were able to cooperate with the oakland unified school district . youngsters are we're in our high school specifically because some of them were being caught up in the negativity. the crime is so forth. members of the violence prevention coalition say there are many root issues that need to be addressed to make oakland safer, such as helping people find jobs and ending cycles of trauma and underserved communities are focusing their attention on the latest homicide case, calling gun violence a public health crisis. investigators say a man was shot and killed just after 10 yesterday morning on val

where this afternoon protesting the death of a woman in iran want to show you some video from a peaceful protest outside of san francisco city hall yesterday morning. that demonstration is calling attention to the death of 22 year old masa mini, who was arrested on september 16th by iran's morality police for allegedly wearing her mandatory hijab too loosely, police say she died of heart failure, but witnesses say she was beaten and hit in the head. sensor means death, women have been taking to the streets, removing their hijabs and burning them. woman rights is human rights. it's fundamentally human rights.
